    A programme was organized by CIIMHANS at Central India college of Nursing Dewada, with the give theme of WHO “Psychological First Ad” Different kinds of distressing events happen in the world, such as war, natural disasters, accidents, fires and interpersonal violence (for example, sexual violence). Individuals, families or entire communities may be affected. People may lose their homes or loved ones, be separated from family and community, or may witness violence, destruction or death. Although everyone is affected in some way by these events, there are a wide range of reactions and feelings each person can have. Many people may feel overwhelmed, confused or very uncertain about what is happening. They can feel very fearful or anxious, or numb and detached. Some people may have mild reactions, whereas others may have more severe reactions. All above concern was discussed by CIIMHANS’s team.     NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMME TRAINING OF THE MEDICAL OFFICERS ON 16-17 NOV 16 Mental disorders impose a massive burden in the society. The National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) is being implemented by the Government of India to support state governments in providing mental health services in the country. India is facing shortage of qualified mental health manpower for District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) in particular and for the whole mental health sector in general. Mobilising Medical Officers from different parts of the State by imparting training to them is a corresponding step by the NMHP and DMHP. DMHP Durg has organised a two days workshop on 16-17 Nov 2016 and Dr. Santosh K Chaturvedi, Dean, NIMHANS Bangalore was the Chief Guest and one of the Master trainers. The program was graced with the presence of State Nodal Officer Dr. Singh, District Nodal Officer Dr. Sugam Sawant, Dr Sumi Jain, State Program coordinator, Dr. Pramod Gupta, Director CIIMHANS Dewada, Master Trainer, Dr Mainak Deb Sikder, Master Trainer Dr. Ashok Sakyaa and Ms. Shama Hamdani, Psychologist of DMHP. Dr. Pramod Gupta, Director of Central India Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Dewada, elucidated copiously regarding different types and aspects of Anxiety and Psychosis related issues on 16 Nov 16, and De-addiction and rehabilitation on the concluding day. He reiterated on the importance of issues ranging from Identification to remission viz. assessment, therapeutic interventions both pharmacotherapy psychotherapies and categorically mentioned about effective follow up care.

    Anxiety Disorders and Psychosis- An overview Anxiety Disorders and Psychosis- An overview Anxiety disorders, however, are illnesses that cause people to feel frightened, distressed and uneasy for no apparent reason. Left untreated, these disorders can dramatically reduce productivity and significantly diminish an individual's quality of life. In contrast, Psychosis is characterized by an impaired relationship with reality and is a symptom of serious mental disorders. People who are psychotic may have either or both hallucinations or delusions. Delusions and hallucinations seem real to the person who is experiencing them.

    DR PRAMOD GUPTA, DIRECTOR CIIMHANS, ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF CHHATTISGARH PSYCHIATRIC SOCIETY Dr. Pramod Gupta, Managing Director of Central India Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Dewada, Rajnandgaon has been unanimously elected as the new President of Chhattisgarh Psychiatric Society in the election on 25 Nov 2016. Dr Pramod Gupta was the Secretary of the Society since 2007 and is the Successor to Dr. A.K. Biswas, former President. He was the Treasurer of the society during 2006-07.He was also holding various prestigious offices like organizing secretary –CIPCON-2010,Zonal representative of IAGMH, Treasurer Indian Psychiatric Society-2010-2012, Advocacy committee member of Chhattisgarh State Council of Educational Research and Training under NACO&HRD . Presently he is also holding the office of executive member of the Chhattisgarh State component of the Apex Society IPS. During his tenure as Secretary, Chhattisgarh Psychiatric Society was conferred as the “Best State Psychiatric Society” during 2008-09 by the esteemed Indian Psychiatric Society, During his immaculate 18 years saga of profession, Dr. Pramod Gupta has earned many laurels pan India like delivering more than 400 lectures on mental health and social living issues, known for his endeavours on social upliftment through creating awareness about mental health issues in this comparatively downtrodden region. Dr Pramod Gupta is the proud son of Dr. Ramlakhan Gupta, founder chairman of Dr. Ramlakhan Gupta Foundation Durg and co-director of the foundation and Central India College of Nursing, Rajnandgaon. During the maiden speech as President, Dr. Gupta has emphasized on the evidence based system of treatment and the incorporation of latest global trends in to the modalities of patient management in Chhattisgarh and he has reiterated the need of community rehabilitation programmes in the interior villages for creating awareness on mental health and sensitizing about scientific treatment options to the rustic villagers in Chhattisgarh. The other office bearers of the society are Dr.Nitin Mallik,(Secretary) successor to Dr. Manoj Sahu, and the treasurer is Dr. S Rajput. The whole process of election at the Society was under the benefaction of the eminent veterans in the profession Dr.P.N.Shukla, Founder Director, PGIBAMS, Raipur and Dr. Ashok Trivedi , Senior Psychiatrist, Bhilai.

    छत्तीसगढ़ माध्यमिक षिक्षा मंडल की वार्षिक परीक्षा वर्ष 2015 एवं 2016 प्रावीण्य सूची के मेधावी विद्याार्थियो के सम्मान समारोह के अवसर पर दिनांक 28/11/2016 को दो दिवसीय करियर काउल्सिलिंग, प्रबंधन कला पर व्याख्यान सह सांस्कृतिक संध्या का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में छात्रो में तनाव का प्रबंध एवं पालको के लिए दिषानिर्देष पर व्याख्यान दिये गये। डाॅ. प्रमोद गुप्ता (मनोरोग विषेषज्ञ, डायरेक्टर सिम्हांस) ने छात्रो को तनाव से मुक्ति के लिए नियमित दिनचर्या, टाईम मैनेजमेंट लक्ष्य पर आधारित छोटे-छोटे प्रयासो के क्रियानवयन एवं संतुलित आहार के बारे में विस्तार से बताऐ।

    दिनांक 19/12/2016 को कांफ्रेंस हॉल जिला अस्पताल, दुर्ग में राष्ट्रीय तंबाकू नियंत्रण कार्यक्रम द्वारा तंबाकू के हानिकारक प्रभावों पर जिला स्तरीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया इस कार्यक्रम में डॉ. प्रमोद गुप्ता (डायरेक्टर, सिम्हांस, देवादा) ने तंबाकू पर निर्भरता के मनोवैज्ञानिक कारणों एवं तंबाकू सेवन के मनःस्थिति पर होने वाले गंभीर परिणामों के बारे में बताए। ए.डी.एच.डी. अवसाद, व्यक्तित्व विकार, मनोविक्षिप्तता, घबराहट की बीमारियों में किस तरह तंबाकू सेवन का प्रभाव बढ़ सकता है इस बारे में विस्तारपूर्वक बताए। इस कार्यक्रम में डॉ. सुगम सावंत (नोडल आॅफिसर), डॉ. प्रशांत श्रीवास्तव (सी.एम.एच.ओ., दुर्ग), श्री दिग्विजय सिंह (सचिव, जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण, दुर्ग), डॉ. कमलेश जैन (राज्य नोडल आॅफिसर), श्री संजय मिश्रा (जनसुनवाई फाउंडेशन एन.जी.ओ.) इत्यादि थे।

    कला मंदिर सिविक सेन्टर भिलाई, में पुलिस विभाग में व्यावसायिक दक्षता विकास हेतु कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया इस कार्यक्रम में डांॅ. प्रमोद गुप्ता डायरेक्टर सिम्हास, ने पुलिस कर्मियों पर तनाव पर तनाव एवं उनके प्रबंधन के विषय में व्याख्यान दिये। उन्होंने बताया की कार्यक्षेत्र,समाज,मीडिया,राजनीति,परिवार आदि क्षेत्रों से किस प्रकार तनाव कि स्थिति उत्पन्न होती है। किस तरह से जीवन को अलग अलग खानों में फिट किया जाये एवं दैनंदिन जीवन में तनाव से दूर रहने के आसान टिप्स भी बताएं । साथ ही न्यूज टी. वी. चैनल को इंटरव्यू भी दिये। इस कार्यक्रम में पुलिस के आला अधिकारी भी मौजूद थे।

In his phenomenal speech at University, Dr Pramod Gupta reiterated on positive frame of mind and self identification for a fruitful functional human life extending to the society from micro to macro level, giving emphasis to fulfilling the individual and social norms in materialising the purpose of human life.
